BookCoverPreview

First let me share the blurb with you:

The year 1585. The Anglo-Spanish War. England’s greed for Spain’s crops, land, and supplies gives birth to the inertia of intolerance on both sides. Yet, even then, Love surges forth.

MarcoAntonio, a Spanish gentleman and knight, defied all boundaries of color and culture, when setting eyes on the English lady Amaryllis. Although to others, he may be a bit reserved, he dares to lower his defenses solely for her.

Amaryllis is an English lady. One with an open heart, gentle spirit, and shining eloquence. She knew that she should not desire MarcoAntonio. Still, a love feeling so right couldn’t be so horribly wrong!

Travel with MarcoAntonio and Amaryllis as they duel with internal and external forces threatening to tear their powerful love apart. In the midst of troubles the likes of which have no compare, MarcoAntonio and Amaryllis find themselves having to fight the most unexpected of adversaries, just for the right to love each other.

Discover why their LOVE is the result of ALL things conquered!

I usually can't get through an entire romance novel in one sitting. However, as soon as I picked up the book, game over. For the life of me, I could not stop turning the pages. The charaters were so real that I felt like i was personally experiencing all thier trials and tribulations.
A Spanish knight falls for an english woman, and they go to hell and back just to be together.
The writing had a few issues, like repetition, but I didn't even care. That's just how good the story is!! This novel was just.....(poof! Mind blown.) hats off to Miss Correa. There were not enough stars, but 6 out 6. It's one of those books you'll always remember. I highly recommend this...again, wow!!!

Firstly, I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I am not normally a reader of romance. It's simply not a genre that I normally shop for. I am a Dystopian Sci-fi author at heart. There is so much more to it than the cover hints toward. It is a medieval fantasy as well. I do have to say that I was very happy with this story as it kept me interested throughout. The story of a Spaniard falling in love with an English aristocrat's daughter is actually quite captivating. The characters form wonderful relationships with each other, especially that of Rye and MarcoAntonio. I won't give anything away here other than the battle scenes provoke a fun camaraderie between the two that reminds me of the fun I get out of watching "The Princess Bride".

I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. My only problem with it at all is where I found a sentence starting with the word, "And". I figure if you can do that, you can join that sentence with the one before it. The only exception to this is when one writes dialogue. Sometimes, characters just say things like, "And that's when they made me their chief." But, whatever! It comes down to a matter of style and I cannot penalize this story for it. The issue did not stop the overwhelming flow of the writing and therefore, my enjoyment was not shattered by that small detail.

The plot thickens with the addition of witches and an evil spirit that likes to take over bodies and such...but I must stop there. I wish not to give anything else away. This is well written, thrilling, suspenseful and even sexy in a multitude of passages. I found myself wishing that it was twice as big of a novel by the time I was done with it.

Great job by the author. This is one great story that I hope turns into an epic series.
